Who Are We?
Value-A-Boat was founded by Eugene J. Yung, in the State of Missouri and its charter number is X0075127. Value-A-
Boat Bankers and Value-A-Boat Dealers are subsidiaries.
- Mr. Yung has worked as an appraiser for thirty seven years. He began working for the City of St. Louis,
Missouri in 1965 as an appraiser for the city's property appraisers office and remained there until
1985. He then accepted another position. Mr. Yung began working for the Florida Department of Revenue as a
senior auditor. His duties consisted of auditing Florida County Property Appraiser’s Offices, checking their
appraisal accuracy and work practices.
- Mr. Yung has been certified by states and national organizations. He attended conventions, audit training
seminars and actively participated as a student, teacher and speaker. Mr. Yung is a member in good standing
with many appraisal associations including the IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers)
since 1968.
- Retiring from the Florida Department of Revenue he decided to move to the Missouri
Lake of the Ozarks to be closer to his grandchildren. While living along the bank of the Lake of the Ozarks,
which is 1200 miles of shore line long and being surrounded by boats, it came to his attention that no one was
valuing boats and having them certified with certificates of value.
- Mr. Yung decided to introduce an appraisal approach that is commonly used in the Real Estate Business. It has
been proven to be very helpful to real estate sales people. This approach to value is called a comparative
market appraisal. These appraisals are not used by financing companies because they require a full blown
appraisal that cost hundreds of dollars. Market appraisals can be used in valuing boats without having to do
expensive on site appraisals.
