These are things you should be told.
US Boat doesn't appraise custom built boats, some house boats, boat extra features, or extra equipment.

  • Adjusting For Boat's Condition.

  • It is impossible for Value-A-Boat to adjust for an unseen boat's condition. However, Value-A-Boat explains how
quick and easy it is to adjust for condition.  Most of the time no condition adjustment is needed because most
boats are in normal condition, considering their age, fair wear and tear.

  • No company on this planet will furnish a printed and detailed off site certified (signed) appraisal certificate of
market value for a boat “except” Value-A-Boat

  • An inexpensive, off site certificate, furnished by US Boat can be used for taxes, courts trials, bargaining, record
keeping, and any time a documentary of market value is needed for your boat. Value-A- Boat price for a detailed
certified certificate for a boat value, extra motor, and trailer.  This is without any doubt a very reasonable price at
this time. If you have any questions e-mail

Following are some of the many scenarios people go through to get boat values.

1.) NEWSPAPERS: A lot of  people read the newspaper boat adds in hope they can find a boat like their's for sale so they can get an
idea what their boat is worth. This approach leaves a person  wondering if the add is right or if the boat is really the same as their boat
and is it priced right.

2.) BANKS & DEALERS:  Some people approach boat dealers and banks for values,  just  to be snubbed off.  If a boat dealer isn't
dealing and the banker isn't banking a loan,  then they don't  want to be bothered. Call then up, you’ll see.

3.) INTERNET VALUES:  Another alliterative people have is to go out on the Internet  to companies
that supply boat values for free. Do they have the up to date adjusted sales data on your particular boat?  They generally do not. They
only have a small percentage of boats manufactured from 1902 through 2006.  They will generate a number, it my or may not be
correct.  That is the chance you take.  Hey, its free.

4.) OLD RELIABLE:  There are also boat data collecting companies that have been in business for many  years and appraise boats
back to 1905 but they are only willing to service full time subscribers for a reasonable fee or sell their great data books which are
thick large volumes,  for hundreds of dollars.  This isn't  for someone wanting one or two appraisals every now and then.

5.) BEST OF ALL:  Then there are the
On Site, ( physically inspected) boat appraisals.  These are the very best but cost thousand of
dollars depending on the size of the boat being inspected.  These are known as boat surveys and they are surveys, they check
everything very closely. These are done only on very special situations. Not for the general public

A Value, is a value, is a value.
Average Retail Price,is the value Value-A-Boat uses.  Beware of other types of values: real value, replacement value,
cost value, current value, market value, just value, actual cash value and etc.  Value-A-Boat appraisal values are based
on the retail sales of over hundreds of thousands of used pleasure boats. Our values are not based on straight line
depreci-tion.  Not all boats go down in value equally, some fast, some slow, some in steps and others go up in value.
Boats do not depreciate or appreciate the same as cars or airplanes.  Do you know the retail value of your boat?
